Highlights
In 2005 the Cork International Choral Festival celebrates its 51st Anniversary commencing on Wednesday 27th April with a performance of Berlioz's Te Deum
by Cologne Philharmonic Choir (Germany), Fleischmann Choir, Cork School of Music Senior & Youth Choirs, Cork School of Music Symphony Orchestra, Robert Craig (Tenor), Colin Nicholls (Organ), Conductor Geoffrey Spratt, in the City Hall. Other highlights will include a number of Fringe concerts in St Fin Barre's Cathedral and a late night concert "Evocations - the Voices of Anúna" in the North Cathedral on Friday 29th April.

Cork 2005: European Capital of Culture
On 7th October 2004 Cork 2005: European Capital of Culture launched its programme of over 250 events to take place in 2005. The programme will encompass events from 8 different disciplines: Music; Research, Residencies and Process; Sport; Theatre and Dance; Architecture, Design and Visual Arts; Festivals; Film, Media and Sound; Literature, Publications and Conferences. In association with Cork 2005: European Capital of Culture the Cork International Choral Festival is delighted to present two feature concerts in addition to the Festival's normal programme. "Ethnic Voices" will feature performers from Bulgaria, Ireland, Sardinia, Switzerland and Tuva bringing the colour and music of ethnic diversity to Cork audiences. "Contemporary Europe - A Choral Journey in Words and Music", will present a programme of contemporary European choral music performed by the National Chamber Choir. The Cork International Choral Festival will also host the chamber opera "Judith & Holofernes" by John Gibson (Composer) as part of the Cork 2005 programme.
