Bernie Sherlock (Ireland) )


Bernie Sherlock has extensive conducting experience with adult and children’s choirs. She studied conducting in Hungary with Peter Erdei and Ildikó Herboly Kocsár of the Liszt Academy, and more recently in Ireland with Gerhard Markson. Bernie is a Lecturer in Music in the DIT Conservatory of Music & Drama where she was Choral Director for 10 years. This included directing the award-winning DIT Chamber Choir which won several first and second prizes at the Cork International Choral Festival, as well as several awards for individual works. The choir won Feis Ceoil's Culwick Cup seven times in ten years.

In 2005 Bernie founded New Dublin Voices which performed sell-out Christmas concerts in the John Field Room and National Concert Hall in Dublin, and at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast. Bernie is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin where she lectures in the School of Music and has been conductor of the University of Dublin Choral Society since 1999.
