Cork Children’s Chorus ( Ireland)

The Cork Children’s Chorus has been very successful since its establishment in 2004. The Chorus promotes an equality of access to artistic opportunities among communities. It is a non-profit-making education outreach programme developed by Cork Opera Works.

Highlights of 2005 included their performance of Red Sun for the civic ceremony which launched Cork as European Capital of Culture, Schubert’s Mass in G as part of the Easter liturgy at the Honan Chapel, UCC, and Madame T for Meridian Theatre Company at the Everyman Palace Theatre. They performed Hansel and Gretel, in celebration of 150 years of Cork Opera House. Their Composer in Residence programme was realised with the public performance and CD recording of Ships and Waltzes by C.S.L. Parker.

2005 also saw the group make television appearances in Carols from Cork 2005 on RTE Television and Cork Children’s Chorus Welcomes Little Cherries Tamae which aired in three episodes on KTY Television in Japan.
