Cork communities on song for World Refugee Day |
|
June saw Cork International Choral Festival widen its links in the community through a unique event organised in celebration of World Refugee Day on June 20th.
Over 60 people, representing Corks diverse range of cultures and communities, turned up to learn and sing Howard Bernstein's 'Ding Dang Dong' in 45 minutes with reknowned conductor John O'Brien.
The eveing was a great success, with new friends, connections and especially, new choral enthusiasts coming together to celebrate the common thread between every culture, tradition, and religion - the inspirational power of the human voice.
