10am - 1pm
Participants €40 (conc. €35) / Observers €12 (conc. €10)
The Festival in association with the Association of Irish Choirs is delighted to offer a masterclass for conductors with dynamic conductor Pasi Hyokki on Sunday 6th May at the CIT Cork School of Music (in association with CIT Cork School of Music). The masterclass is open to established conductors who wish to improve their skills and techniques, working under the guidance of this highly-regarded conductor and teacher.
Application
Conductors wishing to participate in the masterclass should send a cover letter/email of application along with a cv, summarising their conducting experience, including, where appropriate, any training received. Applications should be received by Friday 13 April. Successful applicants will be notified.
Each conductor will be expected to have prepared two pieces of their choice in advance and Pasi Hyokki will work with each individual for 20 minutes on each piece. In total each participant will be allowed around 40 minutes of 'stand time' to work with renowned Irish choir, The Park Singers. Pasi will also rehearse the choir, giving all in attendance an opportunity to see him in action and to learn from his precise and energetic conducting.
