International Awards
1. Lady Dorothy Mayer Memorial Trophy Special Award for the performance of a piece in the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition. 2. Schuman/Europe Trophy Special Award for the performance of a work by a living European composer in the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition. This was awarded to: CANT'ELLA, Germany Conductor: Bine Becker-Beck For the performance of: The Acrobat: Paul Stanhope
3. Heinrich Schutz Perpetual Trophy Special Award for the performance of a work by Heinrich Schutz in the National or International Competitions. This was awarded to: University of Alabama at Birmingham Concert Choir, U.S.A. Conductor: Dr Philip Copeland For the performance of: So fahr ich hin zu Jesu Christ, SWV 379
4. PEACE Trophy Festival audiences are many and varied. They are represented not just by those who attend the Gala Concerts and competitive sessions, but by those who listen to choirs in their church visits and informal performances throughout the week of the festival. This year the PEACE Trophy is awarded to a choir who touched the hearts of all who heard them and exemplified the intentions of the trophy's benefactors, the P.E.A.C.E. Movement Cork. The PEACE Trophy was awarded to: The Choir of the Russian State Social University Moscow, Russia Conductors: Konstantin Kostrikov & Tatiana Kostrikova
5. International Jury Award Special Award to a conductor in the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition for the performance of an imaginative and artistic programme. This was awarded to: Dr Leonard Ratzlaff From the: University of Alberta Madrigal Singers, Canada
6. Musica International Award This year a Special Award has been offered by 'Musica International' and the 'International Federation for Choral Music' for presentation at the festival. The new Musica DVD-ROM, containing a database of 150,000 titles of international choral repertoire, is a unique and valuable resource for all choirs. The festival organisers and the members of the international jury has agreed that this collection is awarded to: Andreas Felber, conductor of Molto Cantabile, Switzerland and trusts it will be of major benefit to his, and the choirs', development in the future.

3. Perpetual Trophy for the Performance of Irish Contemporary Choral Music Special Award for the performance of an original choral work by an Irish composer written after 1975 and chosen from the library collection of the Contemporary Music Centre. This was awarded to: PfizerPfonics Conductor: Bernadette Kiely For the performance of: Geantraí: Michael McGlynn in the Premier National Competition for Mixed Voice Choirs.
4. National Choir of the Festival – Victor Leeson Perpetual Trophy Awarded to the Best Overall Choir in the Premier National Trophy Competitions. The winner is designated the National Choir of the Festival. This was awarded to: Cantemus Chamber Choir, Midleton, Co. Cork Conductor: Tomás Ó Tuama For their performance in the Premier National Competition for Mixed Voice Choirs

3. School Choir of the Festival and the recipient of The John Cunningham Trophy Awarded to the school choir who received the highest overall mark in the National Competitions for Schools. This was awarded to: Presentation Secondary School, Ballyphehane, Cork Conductor: Anne Dunphy who achieved a mark of 92.25% in the National Competition for Schools: Section 2 Equal Voice Post-Primary.
