 St Fin Barre’s Cathedral

Chamber Choir Ireland

Ireland’s premier ensemble and Festival Choir-in-Residence, Chamber Choir Ireland maintained their collaborative association with the Festival and presented their annually awaited concert in St Fin Barre’s Cathedral. Under its conductor Paul Hillier, CCI presented an exciting and unique programme for Festival audiences including a 1916 commemorative programme and a Shakespeare element commemorating the Bard’s death. A newly commissioned piece from composer Stephen McNeff was premiered on the night in addition to a premier performance of the winning composition from the 2016 Séan Ó Riada Competition for Irish composers, Amanda Feery.
