Ancór

Ancór Chamber Choir was founded in 2005 by conductor Cecilia Madden and has become one of the most exciting musical ensembles to emerge from the Mid-West region. Today, the singers come from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities but love singing together. They perform at concerts, weddings, charitable and corporate events on a regular basis. Ancór embraces a wide repertoire, incorporating music from the Renaissance to the 21st century, 4both sacred and secular. Their annual Christmas with Ancór concert in St Mary's Cathedral in Limerick is always a sell-out event and they have taken on a widely varied programme in recent years including the Magnificats of both CPE and JS Bach.They have become a staple feature in the Limerick Early Music Festival with their performances of Bach cantatas annually. In contrast they have performed with the Limerick Jazz festival on several occasions including a performance of Duke Ellington's Sacred Music with Dublin City Big Band. Recent tours have included Slovenia, Italy and France and they will be heading off to Italy on tour again later this year.
