Cór Geal

Cór Geal was established in 2009, by its musical director Betty Fitzgerald. It is a four-part mixed adult choir, whose repertoire consists of a broad genre of music including, sacred, popular, jazz, and contemporary. The choir is based in Whitechurch, Co. Cork, and it has approximately 52 members.  

Cór Geal embraces male and female singers from all walks of life, holding weekly interactive rehearsals, underlining their core values of mindfulness and community inclusion,  

Cór Geal is renown for its popular and fun variety concerts which have sold out the Cork Opera House on numerous occasions over the last few years, their last concert being held just over a year ago.  

The members are very fortunate to enjoy a variety of memorable experiences each year. Some of the highlights from the past year include performing in Áras an Uachtaráin, at a Summer Garden party hosted by President Micheál D. Higgins, collaborating with a French singing group, and performing at the Lake Garda Choral Festival in Italy.  

Cór Geal has helped raise funds for organisations such as Aid Cancer Treatment, St Vincent de Paul, and The Motor Neuron Society of Ireland as well as many other community-based projects.
