Sunday 30th April, 2pm
Belle Harmonics is a dynamic 30-member pop-rock choir that performs songs by artists like Sia, Kate Bush, Beyonce, and Fleetwood Mac. Formed in 2018, Belle Harmonics is already well known to the stages and festivals of Dublin, recently performing to sold-out audiences in the Grand Social and The Sugar Club. When possible, we also sing in support of charities and not-for-profit organisations such as Women's Aid, the Irish Red Cross, and Mna an hEireann. Based in Synge Street Dublin 8, Belle Harmonics was set up as a not-for-profit group with the ethos of respect, kindness, and fun. Throughout the pandemic we rehearsed online, building our repertoire and maintaining our connection. We love to perform unique arrangements of classic songs bringing harmony to those who might never know it. We have three conductors: Sharon Heron, Ruth Gahan, and Katharina Veit. For this performance, Ruth Gahan will conduct both pieces. Ruth is a classically trained soprano passionate about music education and choral singing. She started her training at Waterford Institute of Technology where she completed her BA in music before attending NUI Maynooth where she achieved a master's degree in performance and musicology. Ruth has studied singing at both RIAM and DIT under the tutelage of Owen Gilhooly, Lynda Lee, Sylvia O Brien, etc. She has both worked and sang with many choirs in Dublin and Waterford such as Cuore, and Euphonics, and was also a member of the Irish Youth Choir for many years. She currently teaches singing and piano at Church town School of Music and Walton’s New Music School in Dublin. She is also the musical director of the Dublin acapella group Aisling.
