Cork Prison Officers Male Voice Choir

Our Choir began back in 1985, it evolved over the years and our current group has been in rehearsal since 2011 when Jackie O'Connell became our Musical Director. Our Choir is made up of both serving and retired Prison Officers and we rehearse weekly in Collins Barracks. We love to sing, and our motto is "Just for Fun". We have walked in the New York St. Patrick's Day Parade and sang in St. Patrick's Cathedral while there. We were honoured to perform for the Kent family at the State Funeral for the reinterment of Thomas Kent. We sing at the funerals of deceased members of the Prison Service if requested by family. Most of our performances are fundraisers for charities and we had a very successful CD produced for The Irish Guide Dogs in recent years. This would be our first time applying to enter the Cork Choral Festival and we would be honoured to perform.

Conductor: Jackie O'Connell
