Ole Bull Chamber Choir

Ole Bull Chamber Choir from Bergen, Norway, was founded in 2015 initiated by the conductor and artistic director, Jon Flydal Blichfeldt. The choir consists of 24 well trained amateur singers.

During these 6 years the choir has presented 19 different concert programs with a wide range of classical a cappella choral music. The choir have premiered choral pieces by the Norwegian composers Irene Adolfsen Wenæs an Tord Kalvenes.

In 2017 we had a personal meeting with Arvo Pärt in London during a rehearsal. As a result of our relationship, Ole Bull Chamber Choir had the Norwegian premiere of one of his most recent pieces for choir: And I heard a voice… The choir has also had collaborative concerts with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Bergen Cathedral Choir. Just like the violinist Ole Bull, the choir's ambition is to be daring and adventurous with audiences home and abroad. In 2017 they achieved the "Runner Up" Price at London International Choral Competition and have also participated in the international choral competition og Arezzo, Italy, in 2019.

Ole Bull Chamber Choir receives economic support nationally as "choir of high standards" and is one of two choir in the municipality of Bergen that has accomplished status as an "elite choir".
