Music has been synonymous with St. Vincent’s Convent Primary School since the early 1930s where the records show the existence of not one but two school orchestras! Mention St. Vincent’s in any music circles and the late Sr. Benedicta’s name will invariably arise. A place in her choir was cherished and The Cork International Choral Festival was an annual highlight in the musical calendar. In keeping with that tradition, children are taught to play recorder and singing is woven into daily life. Our school musical “Mary Poppins Jnr” was a hugely successful adventure. Our school choir under the stewardship of Betty Fitzgerald is no stranger to the Cork Choral Festival. Betty has been a freelance music specialist, teacher, conductor and accompanist for over 30 years and we are thrilled to have her expertise guiding and inspiring our wonderful pupils.
