The stunning and historical St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral came alive with an organ recital by James Taylor, Assistant Director of Music at the Cathedral. The organ has been recently restored and, with 88 speaking stops and 4500 pipes, it is the biggest in the Republic and the only one in the whole island of Ireland to be located in ‘a pit’. This fine example of historical restoration and new build can now be described as one of the truly great organs of Europe.
