The MRSC Choir was formed in 2008, the first provincial rugby choir of its kind in Ireland, it is the only rugby choir comprised of members from a Supporters Club and who hail from all over Munster. Since its first performance at the official opening of Thomond Park before Munster's v All Blacks in November 2008, the Choir has strived continuously to develop a more varied, challenging and diverse repertoire, from rugby anthems to choral classics to contemporary popsongs. In addition to singing on the pitch before home games for Munster Rugby, the Choir also sings at fundraising events and concerts. The Choir has performed in Cork Opera House, on the Late Late Show and has sung with notable artists including Cara O'Sullivan, The Celtic Tenors and Jean Wallace. The MRSC Choir have held concerts in UL Concert Hall and Pier A in New York. More recently, in addition to performing pre-match routinely in Thomond Park, we performed pre-match in Aviva Stadium with Jean Wallace, in Pairc Ui Chaoimh with the Celtic tenors as well as performing annually in charity concerts in support of MidWest Cancer Foundation. In the summer of 2023, Cork based Cormac Hennessy joined the Choir as Musical Director. He is a graduate of MTU Cork School of Music (BMus & MA in Music). Aside from conducting, Cormac is a skilled musical and jazz performer, captivating audiences in Cork and across Ireland. Beyond performing he dedicates his talent to teaching, choir direction, composition and instrumental expertise.
