Pro Musica Soest

Since our founding 37 years ago, Pro Musica Soest has been captivating audiences with concerts in our hometown of Soest and around the world. As a mixed choir, we present a cappella songs of various styles, true to our motto ‘Pop and More’.

We sing English, German, Spanish, and other European songs - even African traditional pieces. This linguistic diversity reflects the cultural openness and curiosity of our choir.

A particularly unique aspect of diversity in our choir is reflected in our age range, which spans from 22 to 72 years. However, when we stand together on stage our differences merge into harmonious unity.

Since 2019, Christian Koops has been the conductor of Pro Musica Soest. He is an 'Authorized Teacher for Complete Vocal Technique' (CVT) and also teaches beatboxing.

Our sense of community goes beyond singing: as a large, constantly growing family, we regularly go on choir trips throughout Europe and beyond. These trips not only strengthen the bonds between members but also provide opportunities to discover new musical influences and traditions.

We regularly participate successfully in competitions and have been a proud champion choir in the Sängerbund Nordrhein-Westfalen since 1990. These and other awards testify to our quality and dedication.

Pro Musica Soest is more than just a choir: we are a community of passionate singers who use the power of music to touch and connect people. Our performances are an invitation to be carried away by our joy of music and to experience the beauty of music together.
