Cork City Council, with the support of local musicians and performers, is planning to present a series of lunchtime street performances throughout Summer 2026. These performances will primarily take place in the St. Patrick’s Street/Winthrop Street plaza area. Additional locations are also being considered, subject to performer availability, including the northern side of St. Patrick’s Street outside TW Murray & Co., Elizabeth Fort, the Grand Parade plaza (beside the library), Bishop Lucey Park, The Counting House Plaza, and Shandon, including The Butter Museum.

Performances are expected to take place at lunchtime on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout June, July, and August, from 1:00pm to 1:45pm. Each act or performance should involve two or more participants, with performers welcome to take part in a once-off event or return for multiple performances across the summer programme.

This initiative offers an excellent opportunity for musicians, artists, and performers to bring energy, entertainment, and vibrancy to Cork city centre while showcasing and developing their talents. It also provides a valuable platform for groups to perform publicly and for individual artists to collaborate with others.

The programme will be promoted across Cork City Council’s official channels and social media platforms.

Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to contact Cork City Council at tourism@corkcity.ie or by phone on 021 238 8367. Jordan McCarthy will be happy to discuss the initiative and provide further information.
