Chœur de l'école Mounthawk de l'école secondaire Mercy

Kerry

Mercy Mounthawk has always had a strong choir culture in the school community. The choir comes from a broad spectrum of the student body and performs at school functions and events such as the annual Christmas Carol service, Awards night, Graduation, and school masses and they are invited every year to perform at the Dónal Walsh 'Live Life' mass Foundation Knock. The school choir also perform as part of the chorus for our bi-annual musical which takes place in Siamsa Tíre. In 2015 the choir won Cork International Choral Festival National Competition for schools for Mixed Voices and the following year they came second in Limerick Choral Festival. The choir’s conductor, Caitríona O Sullivan, is a music teacher in Mercy Secondary School Mounthawk, singer-songwriter, and resident judge on Glór Tíre, TG4 for 20 years.  In conjunction with music teacher Molly Giltenane, she conducts the school choir in Mercy Mounthawk Secondary School and their biannual musical in Siamsa Tíre theatre.
