Ashton School Choir re-united in September 2022 after the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a voluntary choir, open to all students of Ashton School. The students show their commitment and dedication by attending rehearsal three mornings a week, before school. This Choir was delighted to participate in the 150th anniversary of St Luke’s Home in St Fin Barre’sCathedral, in October 2022, when they joined a three school choir for this special event. The Choir played an integral part in the 50th Anniversary celebrating the amalgamation of Ashton School last March.
Ashton School will host a Friendship Concert as part of the 68th Cork International Choral Festival on Wednesday 26th April 2023 at 12pm featuring Mixed Chamber Choir of Vilnius University Hospital “Santara” from Lithuania, Cantabile (Ashton Adult Ed. Choir), RTAI Choir (Retired Teachers Association), Ashton School Choir, St Luke’s National School Choir.
Today they will sing Celebrate with Jubilant Song’ by Mary Lynn Lightfoot and Dulaman by Michael McGlynn. Their conductor is Mary G. O’Brien.
