This mixed voice choir, Viva Voce, was established in September 2003 under its Musical Director Bernadette Kiely. The Choir rehearse in the Douglas area in Cork on Tuesday nights. This choir has won awards at Festivals including Limerick Choir Festival; winning Sacred and Mixed Voice competitions at Feis Maitiu Cork; winners of the trophy for Irish Contemporary Music at the Cork International Choral Festival in 2008 / 2009; winners of the National Mixed Voice Competition at the Cork International Choral Festival in 2014, 2016 and 2022. 

Viva Voce have attended Festivals in Vienna, Nice, Riva del Garda in Italy, Amsterdam, the Royal Albert Hall in London, Rome, and the Derry International Choir Festival. In 2017 they performed the Faure Requiem in Galway and Cork, sharing the platform with choirs from Galway and Rome. In 2018 they performed at the Opening Gala Concert at the Cork International Choral Festival. In 2019 our National Choral Organisation Sing Ireland, commissioned a work called ‘An Island Sings’, and Viva Voce was 1 of 4 choirs throughout Ireland invited to perform this commission in our National Concert Hall, Dublin. 

The choir are planning a trip in 2024 to celebrate their 20th Anniversary
