The Sing For Your Life! Choir is a non-auditioned choir based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. They are a 4-part a cappella choir, with repertoire including a wide variety of gospel and folk songs.
The choir started in 2005 as a short singing program funded by the Multiple Sclerosis Society, for people living with MS. After six months of about a dozen people singing regularly together, the MS Society program ended but the singers wanted to continue. In 2006 they became the ‘Sing For Your Life!’ Choir and opened up membership to the wider community.
Performance highlights to date have included many years of performing and participating in Tasmania’s Festival of Voices, numerous concerts and community events, and a 100-voice a cappella ‘flash mob’ performance in Hobart’s city centre. Their first trip to Cork was in 2016 and during that festival they decided to return in 2019. Now, with several years and a global pandemic since the last visit, they are thrilled to be back for a third time.
