Cantairi Mhuscrai choir

Cantairí Mhúscraí is a mixed voice choir based in Ballincollig, Cork and draws its repertoire from a wide range of music including sacred, Irish and popular pieces.

Founded in 1973, the choir has performed a number of major works over the years including Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Masses by Dvorak and Rossini, and Requiems by Fauré, Verdi, Brahms, Mozart and Rutter. In December 2023 it performed, with Limerick Choral Union, Orff’s Carmina Burana and also works by Beethoven at the University Concert Hall, Limerick.

The choir also sings monthly at a mass in Ballincollig.

The choir has travelled extensively to music festivals throughout Europe, including multiple visits to the France, Spain, Italy, Greece & UK, and also to Austria, Poland and the Netherlands. They recently returned from performing at a festival in Venice.
