Dolce

The Dolce ethos is to provide enjoyable choral singing to members in a friendly and positive atmosphere with a focus on developing individual vocal technique and music literacy, enabling the choir to develop in standard and performance. Dolce is a community choir, but not necessarily in a geographical sense. Through our members’ participation in organising the choir and singing together, through inclusivity, shared effort and even through disagreement and disappointments, we are building our own Dolce Community. As a community we experience shared joy and also loss. Touching members’ lives in a positive way is central to who we are and what we do. Celine Kelly is their regular accompanist. Deirdre Ní Chaomhánaigh is the founder and musical director. Dolce commissioned Laura Sheils, a young Irish female composer, to composer a song for Dolce, which they will be singing in Cork. It will be a world premier!
