Loinnir – Youth Chamber Choir is a youth ensemble based in County Clare, Ireland. Founded in 2025, the choir brings together singers aged 14 and over who share an interest in developing their musicianship through focused ensemble singing. Scored for soprano, alto, and baritone voices, Loinnir was established to provide young singers with experience of chamber choir repertoire in a supportive and disciplined setting. The choir explores a varied repertoire drawn from contemporary, classical, and folk traditions, with an emphasis on musical communication and ensemble awareness. Since its formation, Loinnir has participated in local and regional choral events, gaining valuable performance experience. In October 2025, the choir was pleased to receive second place at the Derry International Choral Festival, an encouraging early achievement. The choir was formed in response to growing interest from teenagers seeking a dedicated chamber choir setting. The name Loinnir—the Irish word for “radiance”—reflects the ensemble’s energy, clarity of sound, and commitment to continued musical growth.
