Midleton Gospel Choir

The Midleton Gospel Choir were established in November 2024, and stands as a vibrant and soulful cornerstone of the East Cork cultural landscape. More than just a musical ensemble, the choir is built upon the enduring values of community, connection, and service.

Through the universal language of song, the choir seeks to uplift and enrich local life. Whether enhancing liturgical services, bringing the joy of live music to residents in nursing homes, or performing at local festivals, the Midleton Gospel Choir is dedicated to being a visible and harmonious presence within the community.

The choir is currently under the leadership of Ms. Mary O’Brien. With a choral career beginning in 2008 in Abbeyfeale, County Limerick, Mary brings nearly two decades of expertise. Her distinguished path led her to the directorship of the Limerick Gospel Choir in 2019, before she founded the Midleton Gospel Choir in 2024 following her move to Cork.
An alumna of University College Cork with a Bachelor of Arts with Music (BAMus), Mary has a storied history of guiding choirs to numerous awards and competitive victories. Under her guidance, the choir explores a diverse repertoire—ranging from the spirited depth of gospel to contemporary pop and secular arrangements.
