Nás na Rí Singers

National Competition Choirs
Co. Kildare – Ireland
Conductor: Anthony Norton

One of the longest-established mixed-voice choirs in Kildare, the Nás na Rí Singers were founded in 1972 to promote, encourage, and perform choral music to the highest artistic standards. Building on a proud tradition of excellence, the choir continues to perform regularly both locally and nationally. Its membership is drawn not only from Naas but from across Kildare, Wicklow, and Dublin, and includes singers who have been part of the choir since its earliest days. The choir presents at least two major concerts each year: a locally based Christmas Carol concert and a spring/summer performance, usually held in May. The Nás na Rí Singers have competed with distinction at leading festivals throughout Ireland, including the Cork International Choral Festival, Arklow Music Festival, and Kilkenny Music Festival, winning several prestigious awards. In recent years, the choir has premiered newly commissioned works and performed in the National Concert Hall and locally. With an active outreach programme, the Nás na Rí Singers collaborates with young musicians, youth choirs, and schools, contributes to Culture Night, and champions singing as a source of community, wellbeing, and positive mental health for all ages.
