River Rhythms Choir is a vibrant, intergenerational community choir based in Cork, dedicated to joyful music‑making, emotional connection, and inclusive artistry. Founded on the belief that everyone has a voice worth hearing, the choir blends contemporary, folk, world, and choral music into a warm, expressive sound that celebrates both individuality and togetherness. The choir was set up in 2016.
Under the musical direction of Lorraine Florish since 2018, the choir has grown into a welcoming creative home where singers of all backgrounds can explore harmony, rhythm, and storytelling. Lorraine’s leadership centres on emotional intelligence, accessibility, and a deep respect for the lived experiences each singer brings to the room. Her rehearsal style is known for its clarity, humour, and heart — creating a space where singers feel safe to take risks, learn, and shine.
River Rhythms performs regularly in community settings, cultural events, and collaborative projects, always prioritising connection over perfection. The choir is committed to inclusive practice, and fostering a culture where every member feels seen, supported, and valued.
At its core, River Rhythms is more than a choir — it’s a community built on courage, compassion, and the shared joy of raising voices together.
