RockavoX is an independent community rock and pop choir based in the market town of Dereham, in the heart of rural Norfolk, UK. Established in 2012 by musical director Tiggy, a vocal tutor and co-director of JDT Music Academy, the choir brings together singers from all walks of life to share the joy of singing contemporary music in a friendly, inclusive environment.
RockavoX regularly performs across Norfolk and beyond and has enjoyed memorable international performances in New York, Paris and Cork. The choir’s varied repertoire spans styles from the past eighty years, including ballads, blues, rock, new age, Britpop and even dubstep. All songs are specially arranged by Tiggy to create a unique and recognisable RockavoX sound, and everything is learned by ear, making the choir accessible, engaging and fun for all members.
Community sits at the very heart of RockavoX. Alongside rehearsals and performances, the choir has built a huge and supportive social network, offering encouragement and friendship to singers and their families. They have been lucky enough to tour and perform in prestigious venues such as Cadogan Hall, BB King’s in New York and near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, while also helping to raise thousands of pounds for local charities.
