The Trinity Singers is Ireland’s longest-running student led choir. Founded in 1948, The College Singers, as they were known then, began as a chamber choir of just 16 singers, a place for students to sing together and improve their musicianship. Their very first concert of was held in the Michealmas term of 1949. Since then, the choir has developed both in size and reputation, frequently competing in competitions throughout Ireland and performing internationally.
Most recently, the choir competed at the Derry International Choral Festival in October 2025 and were awarded first prize in the Mixed Choir competition.
In addition to this, at the Cork International Choral Festival in May 2025, the jury awarded the John Mannion trophy to Trinity College Singers for their performance that day of ‘Tykus Tykus’ by Latvian composer Vaclovas Augustinas, alongside placing first in the Mixed Voices competition.
