The Ukrainian vocal music group was officially formed in the spring of 2025, though its musical journey began earlier, in 2022, in Cork. The choir consists exclusively of women from Ukraine, representing different ages and cities across the country.
The choir’s repertoire includes a wide range of Ukrainian folk and contemporary songs, as well as songs in English and traditional Irish music. Through this diverse musical program, the group builds cultural bridges and shares Ukrainian heritage with international audiences.
The choir actively participates in major cultural events, including the Cork Jazz Festival and the St Patrick’s Day Parade. In addition, the choir members are volunteers with the intercultural children’s and young people’s choir Voices of Peace, supporting integration, peace, and mutual understanding through music.
The leader and conductor of the choir is Svitlana Deikun, an artist and musician dedicated to preserving and promoting Ukrainian culture. The choir was created to support Ukrainian women, Ukrainians abroad, and people from many different countries, using the power of singing to unite, heal, and inspire.
