The Intercultural Children and Young people Choir “Voices of Peace” is a unique artistic project that brings together children and young people from different cultural backgrounds through music and shared creativity. The choir is a project of the Cork Music Academy and is implemented with the support of the Creative Ireland programme.
The project was founded in 2023. The choir is led and conducted by Svitlana Deikun, under whose artistic direction the ensemble has become a space of openness, mutual respect, and intercultural dialogue.
A distinctive feature of Voices of Peace is the combination of diverse cultural traditions, elements of theatrical expression, and strong principles of inclusion. Every child in the choir has the opportunity to be heard, to feel valued, and to experience the power of collective sound.
The choir actively participates in Ireland’s cultural life. Notable highlights include performances at choral festivals, Culture Night, Resonant Festival, and the festive Shandon Parade. The ensemble has also proudly represented an Irish-Ukrainian cultural project on the international stage, including performances in Belgium.
Voices of Peace is not only a choir, but a space of unity where music becomes a language of peace, support, and mutual understanding.
