Choral Evensong at St Fin Barre’s Cathedral – Friday

Fringe Concert
Fri, 1st May 2026
6:15 pm
St Finbarr's Cathedral

Join St Fin Barre’s Cathedral Choir for the service of Choral Evensong. Throughout the years music has played an important part in the liturgy of the Cathedral. Evensong is a church service that’s traditionally held every day as the sun goes down, marking the passing of another day in faith.

Welcome to Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, a magnificent piece of Gothic Revival architecture that has been an integral part of the city’s landscape since its completion in 1879.

During the concert, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the Cathedral’s remarkable acoustics as the choir’s voices reverberate throughout the space. The music will be complemented by the Cathedral’s stunning surroundings, including the intricate stonework, stained glass windows, and grand arches that soar overhead.

As you listen to the music, take a moment to appreciate the history and grandeur of this remarkable building, which has been a place of worship and community for over 140 years.
