Rosie Mastrosavva was born in Rhodes. She studied piano, classical vocal studies and advanced theory of music at the National Conservatory of Athens. She attended classes on choir conducting by a A. Kontogeorgiou and M. Logiadis. She continued her studies at Munchen Hochschule fur Musik und Theater and completed them, achieving an honours degree and a Master’s degree in choir conducting. She has attended many masterclasses for choir and orchestra conducting.
She has conducted several choirs in Germany and Greece: Melismachor, Vocal Kreis Cantabile Singtonics, Amasingers, Students’ Choir of the University of the Aegean. Con Anima Vocal Ensemble, E.R.T. (Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation), Children’s Choir of Argos’ Municipal Conservatory, Ano Liosia Municipal Conservatiory Choir, Choir of New Schools of G. Malliara, Children’s Choir of the Third Programme of E.R.T. and the Children’s Choir of the Musical Ensembles of the Municipality of Athens. She is also a choir professor at Alimos Music High School. She has given international choral seminars and workshops in Europe. She has also been a lecturer at the Department of Primary Education, of the University of the Aegean, in Rhodes, as long as in many international choral seminars.
She has already been a jury member in many international choir competitions.
In 2008 she founded ROSARTE Children and Youth Choir, which she directs to this day.
Rosarte was the first Greek choir to win four gold medals at the World Choir Games – Interkultur (2008, 2014, 2018).
In December 2016 Rosarte and the conductor Rosie Mastrosavva was awarded an honorary distinction by the Academy of Athens (Academia Athinon), the highest scientific and cultural establishment of Greece, for supreme cultural and artistic achievement. This is a highly respected award, given for the first time to a choir, in the Academy’s 90 years history.
